Do you label yourself a magician?

It's also hilarious to me to walk up and kick a random dude right square in the balls. Doesn't mean I should.

    Looking For Effects

You've got plenty to keep you busy. The ACR has a lot of mileage and key cards kick more ass than most magicians think. Where are you learning coins from? Modern Coin Magic?

    Looking For Effects

Out on the streets I can't say that I perform more than 8 different effects, with a few surprises kept in reserve or if I'm just feeling whimsical. By asking this forum to recommend you stuff, you're asking for an inundation of fangasms. Most of which aren't going to help you. Almost all of...

    Where Are We Advancing To?

I'm not trying to go against the times, merely the post-modernist tendency toward a lack of direction. In a zeitgeist built on an obsession with deconstruction, it's very easy to lose sight of the fact that the act of deconstruction itself is ostensibly done to evaluate and pave the way to...

Does the Hindu force really work?

I saw Paul Gertner fool a crowd of 30-some-odd with the Hindu Force and a jumbo deck. I saw a guy named Norman Ng fool a room full of college students with the Riffle Force. About a half-dozen times. In a row. I have to talk to present this? When did that happen?

Can mentalism be combined with magic?

I wasn't asking for your opinion about a show. I was making a point about the nuts and bolts of the art. Please make that distinction in the future as I'm in too good of a mood to continue having to explain myself.

Do you label yourself a magician?

I love the idea of using cookie-cutter made up titles in favor of magician or mentalist. It's like trying to prove your individuality by wearing a Hot Topic T-shirt. When in-character I call myself a Shadowlander as part of the act. But when the curtain is down, people call me a magician...

    Mentalism Battle

This challenge is a month old and already resolved. You missed the boat.

M5 System: Tactics and Training DVDs

Simply put, you can't please everybody. Don't throw the conspiracy theorists a bone. We've managed to keep their dumb asses quiet lately. No need for giving them a lifeline, even if it is a joke.

    Is it legal?

You can flag the video, yes, but it's not illegal unless they're posting a DVD rip. You gotta love how in the Age of Information most people are just too god damn lazy to do a lick of real research. Or reading comprehension for that matter, because if you read the original post more carefully...

Tell me what you think of this ;)

Jokes generally have these things called punchlines, and unless I was meant to be it... My reaction comes from the fact that an all-too-common response to criticism is, "I don't see you doing any better." I once tried to give a writer advice and they demanded to see my work before they'd...

How to carry magic for restaurants...

Putting in my support for the attache case reverhart mentioned. Jay Sankey's Assassin's Pouch is also nice to have. Frees up some pocket space. Personally, I prefer a sport coat with plenty of pockets and a routine that makes the most out of a little.

Tell me what you think of this ;)

And that would prove what exactly? The space-time continuum would warp and make my advice suddenly true where it wasn't before? I find it a little odd that people seem to think I need to produce a Palm d'Or or a Golden Globe in order to be able to dispense good advice when it comes to the...

And grunt to you too. He asked for feedback, so I gave it in a constructive and organized manner. If you think that's unnecessary, then I will kindly leave the room to give you some privacy in which to go **** yourself. Jesus Christ on a bender, what is wrong with some of you people?

    Where Are We Advancing To?

And here's my problem. I don't believe in the best. There is no apex that cannot be surpassed. Yes, I am aware of this. My problem is that you phrase it in such a manner that people can use to justify complacency. Again, this is where I am forced to disagree. My philosophy is one of...

    Where Are We Advancing To?

Bull****. That's like saying people shouldn't exercise, vote, or... well pretty much do anything remotely proactive. No, you have to accept that things are the way they are now and then affect change. You have to embrace an ideal of constant self-improvement and evolution. You are...

Magicians not a fan of Criss Angel?

No, I don't like him because the overly blinged-out metalhead look is mine, God damnit! Nah, I'm just kidding. We all know Criss is really trying his hardest to be Mystery.

    Anxious when performing?

Not particularly, but you did succeed in getting my attention it seems. So now you have my attention. Impress me.

    Anxious when performing?

Then you haven't felt real anxiety yet. Believe me, there's no crucible quite like performing for total strangers and knowing that their tips or lack thereof are going to be paying your rent. Eventually, you learn to embrace the adrenaline rush.
