The Expert at the Card table is a great book, if you're willing to read through it. A lot of good information-and i think its online for free as a PDF download...so you wont waste money if you dont like it. Get the Aaron Fisher Card fundamentals in the 1 on 1 section...i havn't downloaded it...

    What kind of deck?

I don't own any masters editions--but i'm getting guardians for christmas and will probably be ordering the masters to try them out. i dont like the look/feel of the black tiger/shadow masters. i do own a few ghost decks, i enjoy playing with them--and my friend only uses them--so basically in...

    What's everyone learning/practising?

I've been polishing my ACR handling with different sleights. Working on some tricks like infusion because i'll probably be trying to get a restaurant job in early 2008-also working on the handling to a different coin through drinking glass that i have never seen--but am pretty sure existed...

    Can't wait until January 2008...

Hmmm. Before david misner's post...i was half-way excited about reading the reviews after the effect came out to see if i should buy it. If what was just posted is true, however, I'll probably be buying it before anyone can review it(via download). (:

    Fusing Point - Wow

It's not rediculous. I do laugh at the title of the thread 'The P.M. i sent, Advertising?' ...yeah. it looked a lot like advertising to me actually. You plugged your website, you threw out that you have 15 original effects (very humbly by the way...fits with the first four lines quite well.)...

    Witness Presentation

Put a blank card in the bag with all of the numbers 'A 2 3 4 5....J Q K' and draw the suits on the card and say something like 'i wrote your prediciton on a blank card earlier...would you like to see it?' you're of course right. then change it in their hands from a blank card that represents...

    Tivo 2.0 Switch- First Performance

go ahead and take it down--dont worry about people being mean, but your flash was pretty major-if any laymen were to be fooled the first time, they would catch it a second go round. don't let anyone get you down--practice, practice...practice...and when you're finished-practice again. do it in...

    Who is your favorite magician/illusionist?

hmmm. David Copperfield and Doug Henning for starters-Copperfield inspired the dream and clips of Doug Henning are fun to watch..not the greatest TV actor--but a great stage personality. David Blaine's book Mysterious Stranger has drawn me to learn more magic history-so kudos to Blaine Penn and...

    Magicians Without Cards?

Take away his cards. coins. gimmicked suitcase from which bowling ball appears...(heh..personal example?) ... I'm reminded of the movie 'The Illusionist' (Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel...) Where Eisenheim the Illusionist takes the Crown Prince's sword from him and does a magic...

    My First Jones Change

I agree with the first post-Work on the double lift. Also slow it down. Take the time to actually stop and let the card sit in your hand after the spin flourish. Everything before the actual change could have been smoother-i suggest to just carry cards around and have them in your hand...

    Good Magicians in Vegas

Penn and Teller have a vegas show. I think the reveal almost everything they do in some way or another though... You could just walk the streets and try to find someone-maybe the next big star is still a street performer in Vegas...never know...

Creativity and Creating Magic with Cards

Always have a deck of cards in your hand if possible. Watching TV and just sitting around, always play with them. Notebook=great idea. (and i thank whoever said it b/c its new to me) Also-try to bring objects that are NOT a deck of cards into it.

    Torn by Daniel Garcia

Pretty good. Like everyone said-slow it down. and I'm sure as soon as you rewatched the end you also saw the flash-i'm sure most nonmagicians wont catch it though. Good job though.

    Saturday Night Contest: Crazy Cuts!

Yeah, you laugh...but I got those cards back together after the picture was taken. That's right, every single one of them...one at a time with a special gimmick I call duct tape. (:

    Cold Hands

Find something thats similar to what is called 'hot hands' where I am, its a pack that you break up and it heats up for like 10 hours. You can keep it in your pocket and use it to heat them up, then do some magic or flourishes and then when they get cold warm them up again. I havn't tried this...

This is my College Essay on Magic & Art...

I like the parallel to begin with, art and magic. Bringing in quotes from magicians and then displaying a poem that means something to you and tying it all together with words like 'art' and 'astonishment' was intriguing as well. in short... I liked it.

What cards do you guys use?

Mainly normal bikes--I use ghosts from time to time, probably start using guardians if they are half as good as people who review them say they are (bicycle makes some pretty nice cards and the artists that run this site have high standards...so I'm sure they're nothing short of amazing.)
