    Rope Magic

A lot of people use Elmer's Glue because it dries nicely and it also dries clear. I highly recommend Abbott's book of Rope Magic to anyone seriously interested in rope magic. It is a great resource.

    The Direction of this Community

Gentlemen, I am so sick of babysitting these threads where nobody can stay on topic without belittling someone else, using the profanity, etc. I'm closing this as of now.

    Constructive Criticism of My Pass

Instead of standing perfectly still, try executing the pass as you move your hands / arms towards or away from the audience member. Eye contact is crucial as well. Toby gives some fine points as well.

Fellas, lets play nice now....keep everything respectful of one another on the boards.

    Ellusionist Holiday Giveaway

I'm sure Theory11 will come up with something great for the Holidays as well. It is still a tad early. I actually had an idea awhile back that maybe Theory 11 could give out some of the super sweet T-shirts that none of us could afford as part of a Holiday promotion. Perhaps after you spent...

    One Of My Favourite Effects!

There are sometimes when we need to shut ourselves off as magicians. I used to perform EVERY single chance that I had until I noticed that the people around me were eventually getting annoyed by my magic and could care less. Never feel like you have to perform all of the time. Sometimes it is...

PGA, That is a step in the right direction, however, try to also broaden your audiences. Do the same effect daily, for a week even, for little children, teens, adults, grandparents. See the strenghts and weaknesses of the effect and how it needs modified for different spectators. You'll be...

Kiddie Section of Theory11, and Stage Magic Update

I believe everyone will tend to have varying opinions on this topic and most everyone has given their view. That being said, and some of the language that has already transpired, consider this thread closed. Please fellas, let us keep focused on magic and keeping a postive learning environment...

    I want to quit!

This thread has run its course and I believe it is time to close it. Everyone goes through struggles in life, myself included. If he needs to take a break that is fine. Magic is always here waiting for you. Some of us need to be a little more polite towards others.

I would much rather see you go perform this for real people and catch the entire routine on film nwatch the small trailer of the ending. I'm starting to grow tired of all of the arm chair magicians who only film and edit via their webcams and do not leave the comfort of their own homes...

    Kids Halloween Show

Great to hear it went well for you. What effect played well for the crowd? What things do you think you could have improved on? These are things to think about after every show.

    I want a Group!

I do not believe that we need to have a "Master Group" within our own forum. Any knowledge that gets shared should be available to all who stop by Theory11. If it is something that is private about a certain effect or something between 2 members, that is what the PM's are utilized for. I think...

    Fire tricks

Wiregrams from E are fun. Warning from Kostya is an excellent effect. I use both in my shows / gigs.

    Messing up

As it was stated, you need to get out and perform more for real audiences so you can figure out all of the possible results of an effect. There will simply be times when the effect fails due to your own mistake or a mistake the spectator made, ie. not following your specific directions. And even...

Saturday Night Contest - Trick with a Treat

Nice Work Chris, As soon as I saw the bottle penetration with the tic tac case I couldn't help but think back to the Masked Magician revealing the same thing with the cell phone into the clear bottle. Was this your inspiration perhaps...ha ha.

    Magic Castle Question?

He is not joking about the high class dress code. I watched them turn away quite a few people the night I was there who thought they would just come in wearing a golf polo and khaki shorts.

    Magic Castle Question?

I would just wait until you are 21 so you can be there to enjoy the exclusive evening atmosphere of a fine dinner and entertainment. I went two summers ago and saw the Pendragons, Sylvester the Jester, and a few others. It was outstanding. Dinner for 4 though was around $200 but we all had filet...

    'Beyond Secrets' or 'Beyond Deception'

I'm not going to steer you wrong here...you will want both so buy both. I own both and both books are fantastic! Plus neither is that expensive. If you cannot buy both right now, go with Beyond Secrets as I enjoyed that one a tad bit more.

Spectator Walking Away In Middle of Performance

Hey fellas, Thought I'd chime in here. You are correct that it was rude to interrupt but, b08 is also correct. As an adult, if most adults have something imperative to say to another adult, regarding a serious issue or something they believe is more important than the card trick, they are just...

    Help With a Show

Robert is probably a bit more precise with 8 rather than 12 Cedric, but I bet he knows how to interact with the crowd and make it work. If you do not feel confident with yourself to drag out 8 effects then I would make sure you have closer to 10 or 12. You don't want to be hired for 45 minutes...
