Criss Angel steals effect and markets it...

He is creates the illusion that something impossible is actually happening. Isn't that what a magician is? I'd love to know what your means for calling someone a magician are, because I don't know what he is or isn't doing to be a magician.

    Card Under Glass/Drink

John Bannon's "Underhanded" from his excellent book "smoke and mirrors" is an excellent 1 phase version of the effect with some thoughts on different execution.

NEW 1-on-1 : The Spello Change by Jesse Feinberg

Ok, I spoke out of line in regard to this point. Where I live, there are not many magicians who perform on a regular basis at all, so most of my spectators have not seen a live magician before. I apologize for not taking other perspectives into account. If the artist is aiming to make money...

NEW 1-on-1 : The Spello Change by Jesse Feinberg

Well then, will you agree that the 1-on-1 was an acceptable instructional video, despite the fact it doesn't teach presentation?

NEW 1-on-1 : The Spello Change by Jesse Feinberg

If someone's at that stage of magic, they shouldn't be purchasing stuff like the Spell-o-change. They should be getting resources that teach them the basics of magic, which include presentation, patter, script, and character.

NEW 1-on-1 : The Spello Change by Jesse Feinberg

This is the problem with magic today. No one wants to put in the work it make it their own. But if they don't want to, that's their problem, not yours. So why complain? Less proffessional competetion for us who actually work to make our acts unique. No, he damn well shouldn't. Why would...

    Note to Paul + theory11...

This isn't just an effect. It's not just a card trick. This is a complete mind reading routine that uses two decks of cards that goes for ~30 minutes.

    Note to Paul + theory11...

knowing T11, this probably is going to turn into a debate any time soon. Much of what is being discussed, about how whether the effect is worth the price or not is in the link in Shane's original post anyway.

    Note to Paul + theory11...

the price of the effect has been discussed many times on numerous forums. surely we don't have to turn an honest apology thread into yet another useless debate.

    Watching other magicians live...

I have respect for all performing artists who get out and actually perform for real people. I give them the response that I feel they deserve. If it's obvious that they've practiced this trick to the point where they can do it without thinking, I will applaud, laugh, smile, and geniunely be...

    Nervous of doing the Pass

and David Stone and Joshua Jay have average passes and they use it for their performances. I have an average pass, and I use it every single time I perform, which is at least twice a week, and none of my audiences detect, let alone suspect that anything has happened. As far as they're...

    Nervous of doing the Pass

If you can't get your audience's attention off the deck for a fraction of a second, then either the misdirection needs to be stronger, or the audience member in question is in the know. I understand that there are spectators who will watch the deck no matter what, but if that's the case, "change...

    Nervous of doing the Pass

have a freaking trophy, you can see a pass, great freaking job. You seriously think the pass is supposed to be burned? You think anyone who knows anything about the move does it without misdirection? The pass is hands down the QUICKEST way to control a card, meaning that it requires the...
