I am not going to rehash everything but my advice is exactly like Prae's. You need to follow his recommendations. That is how i perform my strolling as well when I do wedding receptions, corporate picnics, etc. Two routines of 3 or 4 effects.

I heard a story about a guy one time that did an entire act at a convention with just a little kids magic set to show how it does not matter how much the props cost...it is how you use them to make the magic entertaining.

I do not believe it is new because Max Maven's Prism Hardcover book has almost the exact same effect you described. I performed it two months ago at our IBM meeting. It is a strong mentalism type effect. If I remember to look tonight I'll tell you the name of the effect from the The Prism.

I agree with Scape Goat. You are a little vague. Can you please maybe describe what the "effect" is that you want to accomplish. Which character would perform the "effect"? When? Where? How much time does he /she have? This is all relevant to what suggestions are offered to you.
