Journals are a great way to keep ideas, concepts, etc. for future reference. Any time I go to a jam session or a lecture it goes with me to take notes or to write down pointers, or steps to an effect. It isn't anything special. Just an old spiral notebook.

A lot of magicians swear by Ackerman's material. A lot of top stock ideas and techniques.

Make sure you are really serious about Dove Magic before you get yourself into it. We had 3 guys so far in our ring give up after a year because of the maintenance and caring for the doves...the stench..the noise..and tons of CRAP..(literally).

Get the McBride DVDs or VHS....whichever you can get ahold of. You will learn plenty and then some. Can't recommend him enough.
