Study the book more, this is a hard move, certainly not something you can learn in one day. :) Analyze the move, re-read the text, think of it, and grap the deck and try it .. etc, this is the way Erdnase should be studied.

Don't know what you mean by old school, but you are right. Alot of good magic doesn't need double lifts. Obviously I'm not saying this to give the idea that just because your friends caught the DL, you should quit the move. I'm saying it to correct the idea that DLs are employed in every card...

If you want natural looking cuts, I personally learned the ones I know from Card College. If you're looking for flourishes, I know almost nothing in that area .. :)
