    Time Machine

Agreed - which is exactly why pretty much almost every version of Time Machine I've seen has been appalling.

    Time Machine

True - but very few people can pull it off like Greg Wilson does, he's an incredibly funny man and it fits his presentation style. Retype - it's great if you can pull that off, that definitely works. Unfortunately, most magicians don't have the skill to play off such a presentation convincingly...

Robert Greene and Magic - Vol 2

Something I don't believe anyone has mentioned yet; I interpret the last paragraph to mean for magic that the magician should always have control over his performance, and he should always maintain his authority as a magician. The moment he lashes out at a spectator, the moment he alienates...

Do you work after 6PM? Relax. They may be magicians but they're still human, sometimes. They'll get to you quickly, I'm sure.

    Top 5 Impromptu Card Tricks?

Or you could cull your setup, if you're skilled enough. That's still impromptu.

11th Theory of Magic - Technology

Yeah, absolutely I know what you mean JDEN. It's just that many people seem to be fond of saying that magic is dying or being destroyed when they mean exactly what you said, that it simply negatively affects magic. Nice topic, should be interesting to read.

Can purchasing magic (books, dvds, downloads, etc.) be addictive?

Magic is so rich, and there's so much to study and learn, I can understand that. I guess all I can say is, try to translate that passion for learning into the realisation that we must try and do justice to what we learn also. But yeah, it definitely can be addictive.

11th Theory of Magic - Technology

I would simply like to add that while I'd agree that in some ways technology like the Internet allows some people to damage magic - and these are the same people who don't put effort into their magic, and don't practice - but I believe as a whole magic will always be strong enough to survive...

    Time Machine

I've never liked the Time Machine plot. Why? "This card is a time machine." *Snigger* Happens every time. Has anyone ever believed you when you said you have a time machine? It's a nice effect - but there's probably much better patter you could use. Mostly, whenever I see this, I feel like...

PALMING FUNDAMENTALS by Jason England // RELEASED

Ahh, excellent. This is one of those things where I think, "I can palm. I'm reasonably confident in a variety of palms. ...But I could probably learn something that'll improve my palm a LOT from this anyway." I love the Joe Berg palm, incidentally.

    Sad Newbie

Just one thing I'd like to add here: We are often our own worst critics. Do you have a magician friend - or even a layman friend you can show things to and bounce ideas off? Often they're a better judge, especially an analytical one. One of my magic friends is an engineer, for example, and he's...

Wow. You mean there are people who actually don't just blindly copy what's popular, but actually put thought into what they do? ..Oh wait, no-one accepted the flourishing battle. -_-"

    Card Magic Plots?

I'm sure there are lots. Collectors is one. A poker deal is a type of gambling demonstration but a legitimate plot in and of itself. I'm not really sure what this plot would be called, but the plot of Vernon's Trick that Cannot be Explained has developed many variations over the years also. Then...
