I prefer using shoes, mainly because I practice outside sometimes(its boring to just sit inside and flourish) There are some that will say barefoot is better, but really its up to you, whatever you prefer.

Do you own a hacky sack? play around and practice the motion continously with that for help, also a way to help keep your foot more flat, is by pulling your toes in, then pushing them down. This pressure helps flatten the shoe a little more.

key phrase there, after a while. You show someone tricks, after a while they will also get bored. Show some flourishes, display some skill, and do some tricks, bada bing bada boom they are amazed in both things.

tbh, the best things being sold on this site are the flourishes....
