Saturday Night Contest - The Redline Challenge

Is it fair? Absolutely. The artists should be able to promote their products and encourage sales any way they see fit. If they need to use the SNC to sell their product, then so be it. It sucks for a lot of us, but sales are obviously important to them (that's partially how they make their...

Saturday Night Contest - The Redline Challenge

Send me a free copy of Redline, and I'll enter.

    Where's the 1-on-1?

Following the above link, you'll find that it was delayed a week (for quality reasons--they didn't want to rush it just to release it). Apparently, it's going to be a longer 1-on-1, by Dan Hauss, which is (of course) hyped as being totally awesome. :)

Which regular Bikes do you prefer to perform with?

I prefer to use red backs, as they stand out so nicely against any background. The fact that they scream "look at me" (because red is such a bright, vibrant colour) seems like it would induce a more fair atmosphere (the cards are so noticeable, so it could make the spectator more confident that...

Smoke and Mirrors - Second Edition :: NOW AVAILABLE

The court cards were changed as well, you just didn't like the changes, heh. I mean, there's only so much that can be done before you take away the "core" aspects of the court cards (sword "behind" the head of the queen of hearts, a king having an axe, and the general "feel" of the court cards...

    Wynn Casino Cards

Yes. They're available all over ebay and other such reselling places. :)

    Dan Hauss and Jay Sankey

Looking back at the David Blaine handling, the matchbook ended up "turning into" the chosen card (folded up to look like the matchbook). So you're absolutely right, there are no actual matches inside of the card. But really, the idea is still pretty similar--to say it's "not the same in any way"...

    Dan Hauss and Jay Sankey

I'd rather be labeled a thief than to have an idea of mine go uncredited. Just a personal opinion, because I highly dislike being morally wronged. Way worse than being called names in my book. A matchbook made out of a playing card is a pretty unique idea...for Sankey to not be credited when...

    Dan Hauss and Jay Sankey

... Contact was initiated. Little was done (including a continued lack of crediting). Jay got angry. What would you expect Jay to do if trying to talk about it did nothing before? Continue talking to a wall so nothing gets done? He needed to inform the magic community himself, because he...

    Dan Hauss and Jay Sankey

Dan: First of all, thanks for chiming in! :) But I have a problem with this... ...matches that are housed in a case made of a playing card. Kind of an important part of the trick, no? It's this similarity that I think is at the heart of the current matter. The method and presentation...

    Dan Hauss and Jay Sankey

Wow, I can't even believe what I'm reading...and it's not what Jay wrote, or what Dan Hauss did. It's the majority of the reactions...it's astounding. Dan Hauss effects are the "it" thing right now, so suddenly Jay isn't entitled to being credited for coming up with an idea for an effect first...

    Tattoo's

It looks pretty good. I'm surprised they would do that much detail in the spade, though...I question how that'll turn out in a while (note to all: intricate details, when too close together, tend to blur together. That's why most artists have a minimum size they prefer to do for words, and...

    Tattoo's

Alex Linian: Yes, it is indeed Reed McClintock who has the ribbon spread tattoo. I remembered reading about it on the E forums, I just couldn't remember who it was off hand. :) All: About the tattoos--I think it goes without saying that you definitely have to make sure you don't get your...

    Tattoo's

Yeah, I hear so many people say that, but it was the exact opposite for me. It was fine during the first 15 minutes or so, but got worse as time went on, heh (I was there for a total of about 2 hours of actual tattooing, not including all the prep stuff like him drawing it out, redrawing it...

    Tattoo's

That's just what I was going to ask next, heh. I was thinking of getting something on the top of my wrist (under where I normally wear my watch), but I'm not sure how that would feel, lol. Yeah, the side of my chest wasn't all that bad. It was the portions near my side and near the top (ie...

    Tattoo's

It's not just sleeves, it can be any tattoos on your arm. Just like a simple lip piercing isn't allowed for some jobs--it doesn't have to be huge, it just has to be there. Honestly, I could care less what tattoos people get and where. If they have the opportunity to get a tattoo anywhere they...

    David Copperfield

I saw his show recently when he came to London, Ontario...astounding. Lottery was one of my favourites from the show, as it has so many parts to it, each more amazing than the last. I can't recommend this show enough, it was brilliant. Wherever he ends up after his tour (back in Vegas, I'm...

    Tattoo's

Although it may not apply to you in particular, you should note that getting a tattoo on your arm can hurt your chances at some jobs. Also, some jobs (ie. lots of retail jobs, or any jobs that deal with people (even car salesmen)) would require you to cover up your tattoo with long sleeve...

    Tattoo's

I have an ace of spades on top of a deck of cards (although, it's turned a bit, so you can see that it's on a deck) on the right side of my chest. It's based on the split spades ace of spades (girl in the middle, also looks like a lion). I don't use it as a reveal very often, but there's the odd...
