    Generation Extreme

Honestly, the Teaching in Gen X is not as bad as it could be. If you just go back and watch it over, you'll be fine.

    New Yorker Magic Interview

That's funny, because Gopnik discusses that. He calls it the real work--perfecting your craft. I think it's interesting how Gopnik sort of classifies the two schools of thought. The historic illusion ideology and the endurance artist ideology. Thoughts?

Stop performing for your video camera! Or else!

I posted this link on another thread, but I think it definitely has something to say to this subject. Listen carefully around 11:30 or so. http://www.newyorker.com/online/2008/03/17/080317on_audio_gopnik Basically, he is saying that magic has kind of become "obsolete" because of television...

    New Yorker Magic Interview

The article is even more interesting. I was really pleased when I read it. I'm glad to see that a non-magician is finally taking us seriously. And the fact that it's published in the New Yorker makes it so much more significant. If you get a chance to read the article, try to spread it...

Quick Pass Video (18 seconds) - Feedback Needed!

It's good that you do it fast, but remember, the pass is a move meant to be performed under misdirection. There was a great deal of noise, not just from the riffle. Work on that. It doesn't matter how fast it is if people know you're controlling the cards. It might as well just be a color...

    My hands :(

People used to ask Max Malini, one of the greatest magicians of all time, who consequently had such small hands that it was a legal handicap, "how do you palm cards?" He would say, "I do it when no one's looking." Besides, I've got it worse. I've got huge windows between my fingers. But it...

Stop performing for your video camera! Or else!

Wow. This is a really old thread. Why are we discussing this again? Yes. I am of the opinion that one should go out an perform magic for real-live audiences. So I'm gonna go do that now...
