    Royal Road to Card Magic

I don't agree. The main reason to buy anything is to learn something you don't know, that includes Card College, Royal Road, and everything else. ( thats for beginners, some people buy books for more reasons .. ) There is no "must have book" in all magic ( Slydini didn't learn from books in...

February 08 :: Books Vs. Video

As an avid reader and DVD watcher, let me say what I think about this debate in simple points. The fact that there is a visual learner is simply crap, as Simon Lovell say, simply an excuse for someone who's too lazy to learn how to read a book. Learning from books is not hard at all, but its...

    Royal Road to Card Magic

Skaclown, you are one example of a beginner that's been "gunned down" under the beasts of the internet. Learn as much as you like, learn as much as you like, and perform as much as you like. I read that a magician here knows 200 tricks, well I know 12234512 tricks, because I read/watch, see a...

TresPass by Lee Asher - Review

Because he did. The pass was published in is lecture notes LONG time ago, I'd say betweek 6-10 years. Lets just say that this pass depends on an action, that requires you to have a sleeve ( don't have to, but definatly help ) or a watch. In either case, its a natural cover if you handle it...

    Gregory Wilson's Move?

Don't have the DVD, but you are basicly describing the spin flourish which Greg Wilson explains in his other DVD Double Take. I believe Dr.Daley gets the credit, its on Stars of Magic if I'm not mistaken.

    Hard-Hitting Tricks Help

Lets leave how many tricks you know out of here, I myself know 12131435 tricks. Wait, lemme open this book ... I now know 12131436 tricks. Perform a few though. In any case, check Art of Astonishment by Paul Harris. I'm not into parlour/stage so I won't comment on that. AoA, Card...

TresPass - The Second Fastest Pass - What's The Fastest?

The best living humans doing the pass are: Bill Klush --> classic pass, sqauring motion, no riffle or anything. Eric Decamps is said to have an amazing pass too. Ken Krenzel --> Riffle pass ( he has a video on VHS, you'll say its a camera trick. In any case, he reached the legenday...

    Royal Road to Card Magic

Its impossible for a beginner to master a few tricks, and do them better than anyone else. I think this is actually a wrong thing to do, and many will come here with the misunderstood Devant quote of ameature vs Devant. Please, go read Hugard's introduction in the book. He clearly say that the...

The Royal Road to Card Magic (Revised)

eukaryotic: Simply, life forms with cells that have nucleus ( spelling? ). Like humans. ( Eu: means real. Karyo: nuclues ) prokaryotic: Life forms without nucli ( plural of nuclieus), like Fungi and bacteria. ( pro: means before. Karyo: nucli ) In any case, Greg, GREAT THREAD. I really...

    False Cuts

Wow, great post. I've always know that the concept is Vernon's ( in the hands double undercut) though I never thought the first publication was in Stars of Magic. Thanks indeed for the wonderful info.

    What's Your Favorite Color Change?

If anyone got the chance to check out issues of Trapdoor magazine ( stopped in 95s I believe ), you're in for a treat. Steve Beam ( editor ) is a color change addict, and I mean it littrally. The Trapdoor is full of changes ( even one issue devoted for color changes only if my memory serves...

    False Cuts

I personally don't like to use too flourishy cuts as false cut after a selection, because I feel that the spectator thinks that you're doing something clever. Why not just cut the damn cards instead in a fair looking way? Myself I use the pass false cut or the false cuts in Card College vol.1

Best false shuffle for stacked decks?

There is simply no *best* false shuffle, each one has his favorite to use, but saying *best* is, for me, is none-sense. Lennart Green has alot of work on this, was well as the sources mentioned above. My favorite is currently in Expert Card Technique, the one where Jean say it takes guts...

My Version of The Biddle Trick

Adjones, you want constructive feedback, and you'll get it. The tent vanish version was brillant, loved it, need some bit of tweaking to be perfect though. Other than that, here ya go: I personally can't say that "you destroyed the trick" by making it demand a setup, because this is a...
