My girlfriend is a VERY talented artist. I had her make up the "gimmick" if you will, for me. I certainly did this with respect to the people. It was a casual performance for some friends.

Buy a book. There are a ton of books with several effects in them for about the price of a single one-on-one. Even better, spend your money on acting/performance classes!

Do you really need more material? We have all heard that a bad magician knows a hundred tricks that he performs poorly and a great magician knows a few tricks that he performs well. My point is, you probably have enough material. Spend your money on acting/performing classes!

13 steps is a great introduction. However, I HIGHLY recommend you pick up Annemann's book Practical Mental Magic and Richard Osterlind's Easy to Master Mental Miracles dvd set. That material alone would last you a lifetime.

This may be true. However, I feel that he should have been more respectful. I mean, Wayne was generous enough to share Indecent with the magic community. All he asked is for us not to perform it on tv.

Just wanted to inform you that you have no right to perform Indecent on television. At 38:33 on the dvd it states: "Televison performance rights are being held by Wayne Houchin." Which means you don't have the right to perform it on tv!

You could use an impression pad. Let them write whatever it is, tear off the sheet, fold it up, and hold onto it. You take back the pen/pencil and the pad. You now have the word/drawing...whatever. You could learn to pencil read. However, if you hold the billet for just a second to get...
