    Mentalism Effects

Mentalism unlike magic is IMO 95% presentation and 5% sleights. Try reading some theory on performing and presentation. *Pure Effect by Derren Brown is a great book *Stuff by Luke Jermay, Kenton Kepper , Max Maven and Banachek is also great. *Mentalism Style card effects? Get 'Devil's...

    All that terms... AAAAAAH

When you first start off in Flourishing there will be Sh*tloads of terminology. If you purchase some flourishing DVD's you will realize that most flourishes have names because they look different. Sybil is probably the most popular cut that most flourishers start out with and is the bread...

Which cards are cheap and last the most?

Lol Don't worry I also had this problem when I first started out. Heck I used plastic cards for 5 months before I first bought myself Ghosts. When you are first starting out you might not buy a brick( 12 cards) because you want to experiment with different cards to get a feel. I say go...

    Invisible Elastic Thread

Well I clearly understand that loops are not reels of thread, however I said that I use these reels of IET only for loops and I was wondering which one would be best suited to me. I have heard great things about Silk Worm on various forums, so I might consider buying that.

Help for a beginner : URGENT

I also started with plastic (crap cards) in my first 5 months of flourishing. I recommend you should do some researching and purchase a USPCC deck of cards later on, because you need to get accustomed to the feel of high quality cards. With cheap plastic cards, you can do everything except...

    Card Flourishing... A must?

Agreed with tumbleweed (that rhymes!) But yes, I do magic and flourishing, however magic will always come first for me. Flourishing is a way IMO of doing something eye catching and will grab an audiences attention before you perform magic, however it is definitely not necessary. Like Dan...

You're out with nothing on you?

I recommend On the Spot by Gregory Wilson. Plenty of effects using simple, everyday objects that you normal carry around or that your spectator has. I normally have a ring on me and try some routines with that or maybe something like coin bends and pulse stops.

    "Spreadable" Triumph?

I believe the 'Moment of Zen' was created by Tony Chang? Who is Liquidsn on youtube. Continental Divide is a trick by Lee Asher that separates reds from blacks and the selected card being out of place. I think people has adapted this into triumph and created 'the moment of zen'. Moment of...

    Fanning powder?

Fanning powder is a chemical powder called Zinc Stearate , and works as in industrial lubricant. Most useful substitutes that I have heard of is Corn Starch however it does not work as well as fanning powder. Using baby powder will cause the cards to absorb water and lose its feel. If...
