    Did anyone else catch this?

That was excellent. I like how when I read through the comments no one is even close. The best explanation was an electric chalk board. lol Mike did a Super job. (see what I did there?) One comment was interesting to me, "What about the "Steve" part? It's strange that he didn't give much...

Saturday Night Contest - Anything but Magic

Just curious how the winner is chosen. Best video editing, coolest presentation, coolest hobby etc. Or will it be a random draw from the entries?

How do you present a sponge ball routine?

I can't say that I have any special justification for what they are. I have some justification as to why it appears, but once it appears I call it what it is and proceed. I can't see too much added value in trying to over justify what it is. Perhaps a reference to a clown nose (if it's red) may...

    Favorite Magician

I haven't seen a lot of Canadian magicians, but I was quite impressed with Derek Selinger (http://derekselinger.com/). I like some of Shawn Farquhar's work (http://www.magichampion.com/) and he seems like a great guy. I hear this guy is really good too. But that was his mom that said so...

My Favorite Opener for Strolling Magic

Fantastic Pete! It is great to make sure you talk to the entire table, however, some times you have people who are just not interested and that needs to be respected. Judging by the reactions it was not your magic that was the issue, but a general disinterest. It is always good to explore new...

New to Magic and Don't know where to start

Also look at joining a local magic club. Often times they will have a library for members to use.

New to Magic and Don't know where to start

Hey Beltrem, Honestly the best place to start also happens to be the most affordable. The Library. It will have a spectacular variety (of both books and dvds) to begin with. Read everything you can find-even the stuff for younger kids. Consume it all. So much free solid material there. You...

    friction pen ideas

I really enjoy the reactions from using this idea. Oz Pearlman has a really nice idea on his Penguin Lecture on corporate magic. Based on the alphabet. You could draw a stick man holding a card (say 8 of spades) and once you add the heat the reveal card changed to their card (say 3 of clubs)...

    Does someone have a name?

heh magic names are funny, but in a world of exposure I can see their value. How about the potato control?

What aspect of performance are you looking at improving? I'm not aware of many DVD's.

    Bicycle Prestige deck

Actually you could use a sharpie too. Sharpie comes off with alcohol or foam hand sanitizer.

Which effect fooled you till this day?

Heh, one that I love is a simple version of card warp by Tyler Wilson in his book. It's called scarred warp and it involves ripping a hole in the cover card during card warp. It's something my brain just doesn't process. I was totally fooled and for that reason I won't buy the book.

    Beginner Needs Advise.....

Great question. Are you left handed? If not, then I would suggest what you mentioned - pick a hand and train yourself to do everything that way. Typically material taught considers the cards to be held in the left hand and dealt with the right hand. If you hold the deck in your left hand and...
