    Mystery Box Review

Thanks Lyle. Mea culpa. This is valuable information for anyone looking to buy this out of country.

    Mystery Box Review

Interesting. Thanks for the input. So am I understanding correctly that only the cheapest shipping option has to deal with this? Would the next option avoid this? (USPS Priority Mail International - $47.05 (as opposed to $33.78))

    Mystery Box Review

It was awful (though I would have expected more because of the weight). It was an extra $46.69. From the little I understand, companies can arrange a shipping option to include this factor. You may extra shipping initially, but overall you save. I could be mistaken though. It always takes some...

    Mystery Box Review

Received. Only had a chance to look through it briefly. Not sure if I want to open everything up. It's actually much nicer than I anticipated. Very pleased so far aside from the brokerage fee I received. :-( T11 really should look into inclusive shipping options for this. Ouch.

    Strongest Card Trick?

Jason that was a fantastic presentation. Well done. Nicely introduced, executed, and presented. I especially noticed your timing/pacing when speaking. We can all learn much about performance from watching quality presentations like that.

    No Tear Paper

You can get tyvek in the form of envelopes at staples. I just cut those up to make slips. As far as bulk goes, it is used in construction, so could likely be purchased by the roll at a hardware store. However, that may likely have printing on one side.

    Dealing with liars

You could also just tell them to look up and then throat jab. ... Or take Lyle's advice.

    Dealing with liars

ChristopherT has some good questions for you to explore. Perhaps the effect you are doing would be best presented in a place where you can show more than one person. This way multiple people will see the card. I had this happen one time during a show with a tossed out deck effect. Now I...

    Everyday magic

Check out Gregory Wilson's On the Spot. Well worth every penny (or dollar bill if you don't like the coin reference). It's stuff I use all the time. It will give you a great repertoire of stuff that you can always be ready with.

Understanding different strengths of magic tricks

I would recommend Strong Magic as well. A great breakdown of how magic and performance 'works'. Also worth your investment is 'Maximum Entertainment' which deals with many of the other performance factors that are less talked about elsewhere. (you can add those to this list of material...

    Creating a Website

It's helpful to think about your goals of having a website. Why do you want it? Get gigs? Promote your creative magic? Promote products? Sell Products? After that question you must break it down more specifically. For example: You want a website to get gigs. Then you must ask: What type of...

    Daniel Garcia's nunchuck skills.

Yep. This. I always have them show it to more than one person. I did tossed out deck once and had a person name a card that wasn't even in the deck at the time. Now I always have an invisible deck with me when doing TOD.

    Real Magic Tattoos?

^^ This guy used the search feature. Someone may be upset that he stirred up an old thread.... To answer the question I believe Alan Wong had something on the market for fairly inexpensive. Include his name in your search and you should find something.

    1 or 2

This level of patience is best learned from three year olds who constantly ask "Why?" over and over. ;) One of the goals of a forum like this is to help newer magicians get off to a solid start. To expect the topics to stop coming so frequently is just unrealistic expectations. Gentlemen like...

    Regeneration

Great to see a performance of this. And nicely done too. I quite like Regeneration.
