Hello Anna..I´ll drop my 2 cents on this... Of course you can find a balance...but it´s advisable to find or use tricks you love and the audience love...not tricks you like and the audience don´t like...you cannot enjoy a performance if you are not doing tricks you enjoy, even if the audience...

oh!! I love more saturday night contests....a lot of members that I have never seen a post, magically appear!!

Restaurant work is much more than the tricks you do....the repertoire is just a little part of it...PM if you are interested about restaurant work...

I think you are still young in magic...I wouldn´t recomend to work in restaurants yet...from your posts I can see you are not ready, my advice would be to keep performing and in some time maybe busk in some places to get yourself some tips...I would call this an advancement before actually...

I would recomend showoff after Genesis...some cuts from there are insanely hard!!!

Steerpike It depends of the goal you are trying to achieve... I think you are more eager to create a different type of reaction and I respect that... But positive reactions are different for each magician...only you can define what kind of reaction you want and it´s not easy to achieve it...it...

I think there is nothing wrong for your magic to be qualified as a "sleight of hand" trick...as some people said before...as long as you entertain them is ok! I do think flourishing and magic are NOT separate branches and that both can be combined to create a more rich art...it depends on you...

Well...you are looking at it with magician eyes...I do think it was a good performance...for a layman is the same if he swallow the water and the razors... about the magic kit...my guitar teacher once told me that when you play guitar you should move the fingers as little as possible, for some...

This is so true... I must say that when I had my first convention, I was pretty excited to met the "best magicians" in my country...and when the convention has finished I was very, very dissapointed...it wasn´t because they didn´t know about new trick...is because they continue doing the same...
