Hey there! So I've been reading a few books that talk about routining. All the books say that a routine needs to have a common theme. I'm kind of confused on what this means. What are some examples of a "common theme?" How do you find the common theme?

So I've been doing magic since I was six, but I never really perform. I would love to get a restaurant gig to start performing. I already have a few short restaurant routines ready. The problem is I am only 14 and I don't know how to get a restaurant gig. What should I do?

I have never read Expert at the Card Table or Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic, even though I've had them on my shelf for about 2 years. Also, I've been doing magic for 6 years, but have never performed for a stranger. I know, sad right?

Hi everyone! I was recently reading Card College Vol. 1, and I came across the overhand shuffle section. I noticed that it said the right hand should not move up and down, but in an arc. I have never done it like this. Is this an important detail? What do you do. Thanks!
