    Food magic

I like to use fruit as my final load for my cups and balls routine.

    GoTyme, Cardistry Debut

Yeah man, that music just wasn't working for me. Too annoying. I saw only about 20 seconds of cardistry. Sorry sir, but it didn't work for me either.

"The hand is quicker than the eye"

Classic pass. Retention Vanish. Those are the two I can think of right now.

    What is my first step?

I've heard really great things about "The Gig" by Nathan Kranzo. I don't actually have it yet, but Aaron Fisher recommended it to me. It's about how to get your first gig in a restaurant.

    Card Clips

Honestly, not sure there will be much of a difference. Porper clips are the best clips out there. I don't think Joe would allow a change if it affected anything in a bad way. That being said, for my money, $35 is enough for a card clip. Going up to $90 is a lot of money. I say get the original...

    Tic Tac Magic

Jay Sankey has some work with Tic Tac boxes. There is one on his new Gimmicks Lab project. There is also one on his "Hardcore" project. He probably has more than that too. I would say email him and ask him.

Learning the muscle pass & it hurts bad

Take a protein shake and don't forget you steroids... Wait this is a magic forum. Yea man, slow down and let your hand recover. Your muscle pass will probably be stronger once your hand stops hurting. (I was joking about the protein shake, but protein shakes really DO help muscles recover faster.)

    Creative takes on overdone effects.

R1, I agree with your post. I didn't think his performance was particularly good. It wasn't particularly bad, but it just didn't seem special to me. One thing that really irked me was his "I don't do tricks, I do magic" line. I think it made him come off as a jerk. Saying something like that on...

More than four times the price of Jerry's Nuggets?

To the OP: I would poke around the site a little bit more. Check the "About" page and the FAQ page.

    Cups and Balls Set

Easiest work around that I can think of is to set the non-chop cups down just as hard every time you pick them up. Then it won't look unusual when you hit the chop cup hard. That being said, you might try using larger balls. That would reduce the strength of the magnetic attraction and perhaps...

    Commercial walk-around magic.

I like Search and Destroy by Aaron Fisher. It works better with a table, but it works just fine on the street.

Crazy beautiful trick with a fire.

You put your video up and asked for feedback. Legitimate feedback was given, and instead of using it to make you better you get defensive. That bugs me way more than someone having a 20 second attention span.

    High-end Cups and Balls Set

Thanks Craig. The Cups and Balls Museum link is very helpful. As I mentioned, I am considering the Penguin Cups right now. In your expert opinion, if I am willing to drop $100 on cups, should I just bite the bullet and get a set for around $300? Is the jump up in quality so significant that I...

What's sitting at the bottom of your magic drawer?

Jay Sankey's Hardcore. It's not a bad DVD, but only maybe 1 or 2 of the effects are practical for me, and I don't find myself every doing them.

    High-end Cups and Balls Set

I realize this is similar to a thread that's going on, but I think it's different enough to warrant its own thread. I would like to order a new cups and balls set, and would like some input into a few that would be good. I found a great thread on The Magic Cafe, but names like Porper and...

    The shattering bottle trick

It's called "Devil's Bottle." It's $1,000. Here is a link: http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.php?productid=8241 Seriously though, it took me 30 seconds and two google searches to find the trick.

Joe Porper Clip with Bee Stingers

First thing that comes to mind is asking how many cards you included in the Bee box. I notice that I need to fidget with with the number of cards I have in my box. For a brand new deck, 56 cards (52 + 2 jokers + 2 add cards) usually works. But after while I have to lose the add cards, then the...
