Not as in like doing tricks, but like a general "background" of things.

Something like what a card magician should and should not do. Maybe a brief history and what really is about. How to practice and how much to practice..

Stuff like that.

That is more of a personal preferance but obviously you want to practice until you have it down and then practice some more. It's not learn a trick perform learn a trick perform. Or as Lee Asher says. Learn 3 good tricks practice them to your hearts content, its better to know 3 tricks very well than hundreds of tricks ok.

Fundamentals by Bob Cassidy is the beginners book on mentalism. No one ever listens to me when I say that, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

You can get at Lybrary dot com.

I agree, this is a great book. I wish I would have read this as my introduction to mentalism instead of 13 Steps (not that 13 Steps is overly complicated, but Fundamentals is by far a better introductory type introduction). I eventually got to it anyway, which is good (it's always nice to hear another person's perspective on things), so yeah. Moral of the story: I agree. :)
