Archimedes' Bathtub
The Art and Logic of Breakthrough Thinking

Let me start off by saying that this booking has nothing to do with magic. But this book has benefited my magic more than any other book i own. Why? This is a book on breakthrough thinking. How did Leonardo De Vinci create many advances in science? How did Copernicus discover the concept of an elliptical orbit? How did Archimedes discover the theory of specific gravity just by sitting in a bathtub? Was it simply sheer luck? This book explore how these kind of breakthroughs work. You can use the techniques in this book to solve numerous problems in life easier.

Now why would i be reviewing this on Theory11? Because this book has taught me how to think differently. You hear people say "Think outside the box". But you've tried and tried, but you've never come up with anything. It's not enough to know you have to think outside the box, you have to know HOW. And this book will teach it too you. It will teach you how to break the barriers of ordinary thinking and think in a different way.

Using the techniques in this book, i have created new effects, new methods, new sleights, and new flourishes. I have also been able to discover the method behind tricks like the GOAT change. For those of you who have Andthensome, you will know that method behind the GOAT change does not come from where most people would think.

This book also includes over 50+ logic puzzles which will test your creative thinking. Here are some examples:

1. Four people are sitting at a table playing cards. Yet all four of them lose. No other people are playing. How is this possible?

2. A man lays dead in the middle of the Sahara desert. There are no tracks near him and there hasn't been any wind to cover the tracks. You look on the man's back. What do you find?

3. A man walks into a museum and tries to sell a coin. He claim it was an antique coin, with "540 B.C." carved into it. Instead of buying the coin, the owner calls the police. Why?

Think about these for a minute and see if you can figure one out. The answers on the bottom on this review. There are many puzzles like these in this book, which was what made this book so fun to read. and not only do they give you the answers, they also tell you why most people can't find the right answer.

All in all, this is an amazing book and i urge you all to read it. It will give you a new way of thinking and problem solving. Which will help not only your magic, but with life as well.

OVERALL: 9.5/10

1. The four people were each playing solitaire. It's common to think the players were playing with each other, but that is not the case.

2. What do you find on the dead man's back? And unopened parachute.

3. If the coin was truly an antique, then the makers of the coin wouldn't have put "540 B.C." because they would have never known that Christ would be born.
