Asking for a mentor

Hello theory 11

I'm looking for someone willing to help me get on the right path. I want to work on stage magic and I have a general idea how. However, I'm a bit stuck. I'm looking for someone who I can talk to about getting started in stage magic. I'm having a hard time coming up with a routine for a state show. But i would really like to talk to someone whether on Skype, Facebook, or phone or however, to get a better idea at who I am, what I know, etc.

Which aspect of stage magic are you interested in?

I'm always up to discussing big stage that was my primary area of work during my first incarnation as a showman. Or, are you more interested in small stage/cabaret type magic -- manipulation acts, etc.?

Truth is, both have the same basic starting point and evolve outward.

Well, I hear starting out small is good. I have a little recreational stage I can go to or I can make my own in an open field or room. But, I am very very interested in big stage shows as well. I'm getting out of the marine corps after this term and I hope by then I'll be able to be a much better magician than I am now.

For some reason I can't PM you so the best bet would be for you to highlight my name and select the eMail option (I think that will work)

I'd say SKYPE but again, I'm not certain about the security issue here given that you're military.

Well, when I'm not working. Skype works perfectly for me. I have great Internet connection. I'm actually visiting a magic store right now. Haven't been to this one so I'm just getting out of town for a bit. I'll be back this afternoon
