Australian Coins

Lately, I've been using US Kennedy half dollar coins.

I like them more than 20c coins for several reasons; firstly, they're quite a bit thinner than the 20s (palming four half dollar coins is pretty much the same as palming three 20c coins). They're a bit wider, which makes them even easier to palm.

But the main thing I like about them is that the milling (the many, tiny little divets) on the sides of the half dollars is much deeper than the 20s, which makes them much easier to grip.

They are foreign coins, but they're something a bit special and exotic for Australian audiences; any notion of their being gimmicked seems to be dispelled after allowing the spectators a quick inspection of the coins.
