So yesterday I am performing for some family and friends after lunch. I am doing Biddle and the lady flips out of course and everyone is going nuts. Her selected card was the Queen of Hearts. But here's the kicker....
As I put all of the cards back together and start doing some fans and flourishing just messing around...someone else says..."Hey I saw a card in the deck that is marked with a big black mark on it..what was that? You are cheating." I was a little taken off by this comment because I knew it was a regular deck of red bikes. I was like, "What....oh....that's weird...and proceeded to set the red backed card on the table that happened to have a big happy face drawn on the back with a black sharpie.
She turns it over and it is a Queen of Hearts. That was it...everyone goes wild and I just stared and took it all in and played it off as I meant it all along.
Anyway....the funny part is...the night before I was practicing one of the tricks out of MAGIC magazine, Josh Jay's Column, and there is a trick where you draw a happy face on a card. I had just happened to pick a duplicate queen of hearts that night to draw the face on and accidentally left it in the deck. So in my deck there were two Queen of Hearts but one had a big black happy face on it. Out of sheer luck, the following day at the lunch performance...the lady selects the other queen of hearts in the deck that did not have the happy face drawn on it. It looked like a miracle.
This was definitely one of those sheer luck moments that made me look incredible.
