In the Bad Influence performance on Dangerous the girl who is kneeling down on the floor watching the trick can see the cards Daniel Madison told them to pull out. I don't know, just saying it probably ruined the trick for her see something fishy.

So you decided to make a thread about it..? Interesting.

And you decided to respond to it without adding anything to the thread? Interesting indeed.

You bring up a good point here: how much of what we see in the videos we buy are really, truly the reactions of untainted laypeople? Look at L&L's audience. They seem like they're all going to have a heart attack over a rub-a-dub vanish and they laugh like they're seconds from peeing their pants at even the most stock of lines.

I think in this instance, it could be a few different things happening:
1) The girl was asked to just go with it. Easy enough.
2) She wasn't prepped at all and the effect was that of a card that was wrong changing into a card that was right. Less likely than one, but COULD have happened.
3) She was drunk enough to not notice/care. Hard to say. I've worked with a drinking crowd enough to know it's possible!

What do you think?

Daniel actually blinded her with his dashing good looks.... She couldn't have seen it. If she could see, she would've been starring at Daniels elegant facial hair. Daniel defines misdirection.

also,
if you listen to the audio carefully in the ACES performance vid.
there is audio from other performances of another trick.
listen carefully and you can hear a girl say the exact same thing in the same tone as in another performance.
Im not saying that their tricks arent good or that he has to use fake reactions.
not at all.
I just feel that they dont need to edit the audio to convince us(the buyers of the trick/dvd) that it gets huge reactions.
I love daniel madison though,he's great.i just dont feel they need to do that to convince us of how good the trick was.
sometimes you get huge reactions.sometimes you dont.
it just depends on the person your performing for.some are more responsive and some arent.
