I found a website for free business cards and was going to have some made. I have a design idea in mind and wanted to know what you guys thought.
The idea is to have the card set up landscape style. To the very right side would be a pic of me in my hat, suit jacket, jeans and a pack of playing cards in hand (either flourishing, springing or just holding the cards) If I am going to just be holding them, I would be looking up, smiling. If I am going to be springing or flourishing in the pic, I will be looking at the cards with my hat somewhat shielding my face (kinda mysterious?). The whole background of the card would be black and in bold, white lettering, to the left of my picture will say my name, "That's REAL Magic!" and my phone number and email. What do you guys think of that?
There is a little story behind the whole "That's REAL Magic!" Friday night me, Anthony, and Cody went out to perform some street magic. We were standing in the median of the road, waiting to cross the street, and there were some random people waving at us in an SUV sitting at the light. Cody whips out his deck (hahaha joke was intentional) and held up a card and did a snap change. Their windows were up and you could hear them freak. The driver rolls down the window and asks if we perform for tips. We all said of course! They said cool! Meet us at Berryhill (that is a restaurant across the street from where we were). We got there and they bought all 3 of us drinks and offered to buy us dinner. Long story short, towards the end, I asked one of the guys what he was having to drink. He said coke. I said cool, now I want you to notice my shirt...it is covered in lighting bolts right? He said yes. I said well, you don't ever see lightning very long, right? It flashes and then it is gone! I said now visualize the coke logo...you see the lighting....and then I performed dresscode to change it to a coke shirt. The girl next to him literally jumped out of her chair and at some point said "That's REAL magic."
Hands down the best thing I've ever heard from a spectator!
Anyhow, I hope you liked the short story BUT, I'd love to know your thoughts on my business card idea.
Thanks,
Rob
