Hi, I know there is a coin forum, but there isnt much activity like in this forum.

Im thinking in investing on some schoolcraft coins, but i can´t decide what to go with, morgan dollars or barbe halves that are the one I like. I am used to work with half dollars and have big hands, ive used eisenhower dollar coin, and i can do basic stuff like palming and some vanishes but not as clean as the half dollars, the dollar coin some time flashes in some vanishes. So what do you think it would be best for me, go with halves that im used to or try to upgrade to dollars? I see most of magicians doing coinwork use dollars (liwag, kenner, ponta the smith)

By the way is it to much a difference between soft and non?

Thanks to all!!

I say stick with what you're comfortable with. Sure many magicians use dollars, but it's probably because they're more comfortable using them (not to mention dollars are more visible with a larger audience).

As far as soft vs non-soft, soft coins are when the face of the coin is completely smooth, which would eliminate the noise when the coins rub up against each other.

I would go for soft, my reason for that is soft coin don't make sounds when you classic palm them in your hand, and it make your 3fry routine much easier and more deceptive. Between dollar coin and halve is totally up to you. Just practice with it and you will get the illusion that you want. But I do recommend that you get six coins instead of 4, the reason is because some routine will uses six coins and you will have enough coin for it. Last but not least, when you are buying the set, mind as well buying the flipper and the shell to go with it cuz you'll be set to be the next greatest coin guy.
