I've heard some people have issues with Mesika's, but it does seem to be best option. What are you looking to do, exactly?

Exploding Lightbulb I don't think is practical in anything outside of platform, stand up, and stage. Not only do you have the issue of glass flying at high speeds but also the cleanup. I do recall seeing a video clip of Bizarro doing an exploding lightbulb, on Extreme Conventions, that used a plastic bag which is better for closeup.

It's easy to do it with a plastic bag, so it can be done for pretty much any setting.
