Hopping Halves Problem

I dropped the expanded copper shell and it bent a little, i put the shells back together, the small shell is now stuck in the expanded shell. I just got this. FFFFFUUUU How do i get it apart? is there a way to get the expanded shell unbent?

run some hot water on the shell - the heat may cause it to expand and come loose.

To get the dent out of the shell, put a smaller coin (a quarter will do) inside the shell, and roll it on edge on a smooth, hard surface. By applying pressure against the edge with the coin, you may be able to gently bend it back to its original shape.

Once you have removed the insert from the shell, place the shell (opening upwards) onto some thin material (e.g. cotton sheeting).

Place a layer of this material over the shell's opening.

Push the insert down into the shell - gently does it.

If necessary, double over the material's thickness and push the insert in a second time.

This should force out any imperfections in the edging of the shell sufficiently.
