Okay, so the Jones Change is my all time favorite color change by far. I've put a lot of work into, and still am, so it's only natural that I would love to find cool uses for it. So when I learned the Jones Change Transpo on the Andthensome disc, I was excited. Probably (when done well) the best transpo I've seen. I mean, the card changes in your hand, leaving one card, and they switch places...awesomeness. It just seems so impossible.

So my problem, is that it's obviously bold, using the Jones Change 2. I believe the Jones Change 2 is very situational, meaning you aren't going to say "I'm going to use it in this performance". It has to be you seeing the perfect opportunity arise, and taking it right then and there.

So the problem with the Transpo, is that your basically saying you are going to use the Jones Change 2 in that performance. You've already introduced the two cards, so you have to do something with them. What if the audience doesn't look away after the change? What are you going to do?

Any help would be totally appreciated, and even though most of you will think I'm wasting my time, I would love some advice on this.:D

Cheers

Ask a question, that's one of the best ways to get misdirection, try this for example:

You just did the change, they are astonished and a 100 things are rushing through their head in that momment, from explanations, remembering what just happended....etc.

They are digesting what just happened, That's why they are going to be in a sort of a "trance" if you want to call it that way, where they are just staring at your hand.

Now, this state doesn't last long, it is actually pretty short, they are going to get out of that state really quick and start with the logical questions like "let me see that card" or " let me see your hand". This is the kind of thing that I try to avoid during performances, because that indicates that the logical part of that person just kicked in and brought them back to reality.

Just shift that state for another one with a single question and keep them hooked to that "trance", that really small moment where they for a fraction of time believe that they witnessed magic, the longer that you can keep them in that state, the more powerfull and lasting the overall effect is going to take on them.

So just ask a question, something really simple like "and you know where the other card went?" and you will notice how they will shift their gace from the card they just saw change to your eyes, and it will also shift that 'trance' I talked about earlier to another thought wich is "where is the card".

We as humans can jump from thought to thought really really quick, BUT WE CANNOT THINK TWO THINGS AT ONCE, That's one of the most important things that I have learned that I use to misdirect people.

keep their mind occupied, and you can literally take out from your bag a bowling ball and magically produce it infront of them.

As always that's my opinion and I could be pretty much wrong about this, but if you find it usefull then I'm happy :).
