Keeping Track of Your Effects

Recently I checked out a thread about where you keep all of your magic stuff:

http://forums.theory11.com/showthread.php?t=16662

I thought this could help people who have trouble keeping track of their effects.

I've been doing magic for about three years now. The biggest problem I've had is keeping track of my effects, today I came up with a great idea--make a list. About half an hour ago I made a list of all the tricks that I've got perfect (no effect can be completely perfect though), and I left a blank section for tricks I'm working on (I've gotten really good all of the effects I own. I didn't just make a list of every trick I own though, just the ones I enjoy performing and the ones spectators like seeing. This is the list:

Card Tricks

Invisible Deck
Rising Card
Cardtoon by Dan Harlan
Biddle Trick by Elmer Biddle/Tony Kardyro/Ed Marlo
Turnover Card
The Chicago Opener by Frank Everhart/Al Leech
Ambitous Card Routine
Two-Card Monte
Card Transpo
Moving Pips Card Transpo (Distortion by W:H)
Queens Out of Control
Sick Aces
Trick Switch

Coin Tricks

Coin Through Bottle (Bullet by Matthew Mello and Nick Verna)
Slam! Coin Merge by Travis McPhearson
Nickles to Dimes
PENny to Dime
Coin Bite

Mentalism

Blood Writing (Stigmata by W:H/Banacheck)
Pen and Notepad Name Prediction

There's also a thing on the bottom about which ones work best for certain situations. I think this is the perfect way to memorize your tricks. Before I thought of this idea I would always think in my mind "What trick should I do? Did I perfect that one?" I know this will help.

The other idea I came up with isn't as good, but I like it. Keep all of your gimmicks, instructions, and DVDs in a lockbox. It's sort of cheesy, It's really just to look cool, but it is a good way to know where everything is before you go to perform. Even though it helps, it's really just for decoration, I wrapped mine in chain.

I think this will really help people who can't decide what tricks to perform and when. Hope you guys like these ideas.

Exactly, I had the same problem and the same soloution.
But as Eintsein said "Never memorize anything that you can write down".
(or soemthing to that effect).
I've got a whole notebook and whenever I create a routine I can look at my list and draw out how I plan my routine and chop and change as I wish.

A point to remember with the lsit too, I put where I learnt it as well cause I While ago I did a not so definitive list and after not looking for 6months I didn't know what a lot where.
