The Amateur Magician's Handbook - Henry Hay
Expert at the Card Table - Erdnase

A handful of smaller books that came in various kits. Mostly self-working stuff. And for sheer fun, The Magic of Pants.

Would it be tacky to mention that I have over 2,500 books on magic some dating back to the 1600's?

Brad, I envy you. But I'd be proud of such a collection as well.

Really can't be bothered to list them all... I guess I'll like the first dozen or so that come to mind.

52 Memories
Card Manipulations
Magic and Showmanship
Expert Card Technique
Expert at the Card Table
Card Control
Mnemonica
The Art of Magic

And yeah I can't be bothered now >.>

Have you read them all? :p

I own roughly 100 times fewer books than that at a fairly modest 30 or so at a guess. Some of my favourites though include.

AoA, Sonata, Mnemonica and Darwin's magic books (S&F, Cardshark, At the Card Table)

I have not read them all. Some of them are for research purposed (The Potter Index, for example). But I do know what's in them and where to go when I need to find something. I would take a photo of the library (for the gentleman who claims he needs to see it to believe it) but the library has already spilled out into two more rooms! I'm proud of it. I stopped cataloging at about 1700 titles and need to update my list!

I really cannot advocate the importance of building a strong library. And know this, books go up in value. Take care of them and they will always be an asset - in more ways than one.
