Massa playing cards have lead in them?

I have recently purchased some massa cards from the family owned corner store across the street from my house. The same day I went to a club where they had to wand you and the massa cards set off the metal detecting wand. Me and my friend joked about lead in the cards but yesterday, day after I bought them, I noticed red bumps on my hands. They are rather irritated and they make handling the cards hard and aggrivating. So I'm wondering. Is there lead ink/paint/ETC in my massa playing cards or is it just in my head. And if not why did they set off a metal detector?

I highly doubt it. For one, a wand like that should not detect such small amounts of metal. Otherwise your body would set it off - you have several grams of iron in you. You would have more lead in your body than a pack of cards as well.. Lead-based pigments are highly regulated and rarely available. Also, they are not typically used on paper. It sounds weird though - I would contact the manufacturer.
