Misdirection DVDs?

tom, im not sure if ive come across dvds that actually focus only on misdirection, but ill tell you what i think. If you buy a dvd, that either has 1 or more tricks on it, they WILL and should teach you the misdirection needed. This misdirection teaching can not only be used for that one trick, but can be applied to so much more tricks that you can learn from. Keep working on the misdirection for a few weeks and you will eventually come to a point where misdirection is super easy for you. Hope this helps you out, if not, oh well. haha

I Have started too performe more lately but when i start i always start shaking but i know it will go away after some 100
performences.
and if i do many triks at the same person i get very relaxed and everything kinda flow naturally. But need to get the flow naturally everytime i performe for strangers.

The best misdirection is acting naturally.For example, when you palm a card and you think "Oh my God, I'm holding a card in my hand, they're going to catch me" they probably will.But if you just act naturally like you would've without a palmed card the cahnce everything goes alright will be much bigger.
hey tom there's something for you to study and put out to the public there, create some moves and misdirections and put it all on a DVD and watch it sell....
i get nervous myself sometimes...i try not to let it show.....you want to treat everyone like your family and you should be comfortable...true story...back when J:B fist started, he went through this same stuff, he got nervous as hell, now look at him, a smooth consumate peformer...Okey I gonna try thanks.

Get hold of either James' Browns Fancy a pot of Jam or his 2008 lecture DVD. Both can be picked up for about 20 quid each. These DVD's are what taught me how misdirection works and just how much you can get away with. The lecture DVD will also teach you an idea that will stop your nerves and its a school of thought I have long since subscribed too. It is that good. Get either of these DVD's and watch them again and again. When I first bought pot of jam I didn't have the skill level to do half the stuff on there but I kept coming back to them again and again and if I'm honest are one of the most profound influences on my current magic style.
A book that I would like to add: "Leading With Your Head" by Gary Kurtz. The book is entirely written on all the methods that can be employed on misdirection and uses examples from various effects. He really gets down to the psychology of the spectator and what is bad misdirection. The success of misdirection should not only be that the spectator did not see a move happen, but also for them to believe that they weren't even being misdirected at all. In my opinion, the best misdirection is to just make eye contact. You look at them and they'll look at you back allowing for you to perform your move.
John Carney's Video of Secrets contains routines and in depth information on the misdirection used. That's about the only dvd/video i can think of. Books are the real gold for psychology in magic. Card College Vol 2 has plenty of presentational aspects. The Ascanio book mentioned. And of course Expert Card Technique.
