Far more things count than cool looks. I wouldn't up and stick with a deck I think looks cool.

That said, however, yes. Tally's are the cream of the crop when it comes to normal decks. If they even existed in my part of the country, they would be among my most used cards.

Drop E. Seriously, man. Their decks are like so unoriginal and it's like they only have amateur photoshoppers. Now look at T11. The designs are almost 100% original. The quality might not be as good, but if you have the skill, who needs unneeded UV sensitive cards that fan like 'butta'.

Smoke and Mirrors are like pwnage. A brick of each and use them everyday! Propaganda? Nah, the back design is kinda crappy, but still pick up a few. The rest? F*** em! ;)

Let me tell ya something. I'm using a deck of bikes right now. Maybe for about a week and a half. Most of the cards are bent and warped to some degree. The cards are very dirty. And it's actually only about half a deck. I'm still flourishing with it and doing some tricks with it. Of course this is only in a practicing sense right now. My point is, if you like T11 use them, if you like E use them, if you like canceled casino decks with clipped corners use them too. If you want to put a flourishing turkey on the back and celebrate thanksgiving all year, DO IT! Just have fun WHILE you're doing it lol.

I've lost many a brain cell reading this thread...

**** custom decks...period. Buy Q1 tallies from fullboatdealer on ebay or buy any kind of bikes, aladdins, arrcos, studs, wynns etc. Your wasting money buying teh ultRax cooLzors GhOStMIrrorproPzTigraShadoGuarDzZian decks. A brick of guradians is 50 bucks and a brick of tallies is $22.50. Seriously...

i catch your drift man. In the end the only cards that i end up performing with are Tally's.
But i still can't complain about custom decks because the goal of (most hopefully) custom decks is to achieve better quality for the magician or performer. But I agree some custom decks go over board on the looks and ignore quality.

But the problem is 99% of the time they don't. And even if they felt like God in my hands, if the price is over $4 a pop, you're getting so much more of a bargain with tallies it doesn't compare in my book. But whatever floats your boat I guess...

Well, to be honest, I'm not that picky about quality. In my opinion, the difference in handling between Centurions vs Split Spades vs S&M vs Black Tiger vs Tallies etc. are so minimal that really, aesthetics are the most important thing because they augment your magic. Besides, if you get so uptight that you only perform with the one deck that feels like sex in your hands, and always perform with that one deck... Well, sucks to be you when someone hands you a crappy plastic deck. The only other thing that would make a difference is cost, that I do understand.

Haha, I love debates like this. Not.

Honestly, I have not bought any custom decks in recent history except for Smoke and Mirrors. Some may be nice looking, some are tacky and ugly. Some are better quality, some are terrible. Some last a little longer, some die quickly. When it comes down to it, it is nice to have these expansive custom decks and all, but rarely are they worth the price, as has been said. I play with Smoke and Mirrors, and even though they are $5 a deck, they will outlast any other deck hands down. They pay for themselves. I will go through 4 or 5 decks of bikes before I even start to worry about one of these decks. I sure as heck can't say that about anything from T11, and even E cards, though they last a little longer, are so expensive that their cost throws any benefit gained from durability.

S&M all the way. They pay for themselves and are the best feeling cards I have ever worked with, even after months of use. Nobody, however, is going to be able to sway anyone else.

well yeah i forgot to mention that part. I definetly agree that many custom decks absolutely fail to be an improvement in quality from bikes for example. Some decks are made for profit for the company and some are designed because they actually want to make a decent deck of cards. I do not use custom cards daily because of:

1. Price
2. Looks

Tally's have been very trustworthy over the years and i will continue to use them until the world ends or something.
Didn't mean to sound like a custom card fanboi in my other post. lol

okey dokey guys unfortunatley I regret making this thread and i'm gonna go with what i like... and i think Propaganda's are my style

Lol, yeah. I bet you didn't think it would turn into a full-fledged 6 page war debate on custom decks.
If you like the way Props look and think they are your style go ahead. And don't let any one on here stop you (even though they can't really). I still am curiously waiting for a review to see how they handle.
Also you've probably realized that after 50 responses that you should pick up some SMs also.
Good luck,
_CC

I use tallys most of the time and they work for me. So far my favorites are the Splitspades, mostly by design, but they are also very durable. But I can't compare them to the S&Ms, I don't have any. I'm going to get some Propagandas soon, so we'll see how they are.
