I am participating in two different youth camps this summer; both will have talent shows. I would like to do an effect, but I'm not sure what. I am interested in buying something off the theory 11 site. Though I have purchased the Trilogy, I'm thinking that it wouldn't be quite visible enough. I've also got a levitation effect that I've been working on, but I would like something to fall back on in case it doesn't work out (The method is extremely figidey.). I'm somewhat interested in Control. How does this work for larger audiences? (I'd be doing it in front of some two hundred teenagers?) How would it work for younger viewers; how would one make sure that it is taken seriously? Is that addressed in the video?

Also, though I have a couple thousand dollars in my bank account, that money is regulated by my parents. I have to have some really good reasons to withdraw money. For those who think Control would be good, please describe how good reactions could be in a sort of argument for buying the effect. Thank you for your time.

If you you're looking for a cool angle proof levitation, look into Bill Abbott's The Thing.

As for Control, it's a great effect if you build up to it. I don't know if younger viewers could really appreciate it though.

My levitation system is angle proof; just is figidey (sp?) with the set up. I would definitley do everything needs to build up to control. What makes you think a younger audience wouldn't appreciate it? (I'm a younger person myself.) How good have responses been that you've seen?

I think distortion might be a better crowd pleaser than Control. I think a camp talent show would appreciate it more. IMHO, control works a lot better in a more intimate setting with maybe under 10 people. I think the impact of the trick might get lost when so many people are spectating. Distortion, I did for a group of maybe 20 people during a seminar and it went very well and everyone could see what was happening instead of just one person's reaction creating other people's reactions.

Lee Asher's Witness is another good one for stage I think as well as TNR. Going away from the site, I think Daniel Garcia's Torn is even better than TNR... And at a local show I saw someone did Michael Ammar's Virginia City Shuffle.

You could always try Luke Jermay's Touching on Hoy, especially the version that does not require the force.
