The amount of money it costs to receive a text message depends on your cell phone plan. Most plans charge 10 cents per text message to receive as well as 10 cents per text message to send.
Most cell phone companies also allow you to buy monthly text message plans to save money, so check those out if you do not have one.

Once again, you might have to pay for receiving and sending texts depending on your phone plan.

Nope. There are absolutely NO charges coming from our end. "Standard rates apply" pertains to your carrier -- in your case, Verizon. If your plan allows free texts (make sure you double check!), then it's free.
Still looking into whether or not the texts can be received internationally. Can anyone who's tried it in another country shed some light as to whether or not they received our welcome message? Thanks in advance!
