This short story goes with my coin video in the coin Forum under "Need input" so if you haven't seen it yet, check it out after reading this...Thank you.

About a week ago I was doing magic at work during my lunch break and I did the routine in the video.
I told them that I had a half dollar and if I wanted to I could just reach in to the air and borrow another at any time.
Then after getting the second one, I told them that it would have to be returned because no borrowed coins could ever be kept.
So, I made the second coin disappear, right. Most every one clapped and said things like...cool, that was awesome, things of that nature.
But this one guy just caught me off guard with his comment. He asked me if I practiced witchcraft. To my surprise, he actually thought what I did was what I would call "Real Magic". I know, I know, I said real magic as though we all do fake magic or something.
Sorry if that offends any one because it's not meant to. It's just hard for me (knowing how what we do is done) to think this guy had no clue what so ever. Which did make me feel good because I did fool him so badly.

Well, that's my story. Thanks for taking time to read it. I would like to read about other story's if any one has one that they would like to share.
Again thanks to all that take time to check out my video (no words in it) and I welcome any input or advise you may have.

I've been told that I did some "Criss Angel S#*T!" Does that count? haha I commented in the coin magic section.

Glad you got some reactions. Good work!

I have had this too, just today I performed a card prediction for a younger student, I had a time during the performance I slipped up shortley and by what he saw I knew that he would figure out what happened if I continued on with the effect. So improv I thought to steal the card in question to my pocket, went well and I handed the spectator the cards to explain how I was "doing the effect." He searched through the deck to find the card he thought he knew where it was and when he couldn't find it he looked up at me holding his card.

He looked ligitamately scared, he put the cards down and walked away without a word. I have had this happen several times before and some people have been scared of me before after an effect for reasons,
I always explain to them after that I won't levitate them or something of the sort without there consent.
Another time I preformed Saw and nearly made one of my teachers pass out (won't do that one again.)
I have still yet to decide weather this is a good reaction or that this is something to avoid so people won't be nervous around magic. I still strive for hard hitting magic but am careful.

5Speed,

I guess if that is the kind of reaction that you are going for, then you should be alright. I usually let people think what they want of what I do. Though if he turns out to be some kind of a Puritan and shuns you from his life, just roll with it. I am sure that he will get heckled and abused at work for being an outcast because everyone else there will know that it was just magic, and not the dark arts of magick. Other than that, great job convincing them =)
