It has nothing to do with location and everything to do with angles (and, to a lesser degree, distance...you can do it fairly close to a spectator but not TOO close). The angles definitely limit how many people you can perform it for. That said, if you pick your moments and pull it out at the right times under the right circumstances, it's a fantastic trick. I've been very happy with it.

Well put sammy. It is indeed an awesome trick. Ive had alot of fun with it. The gimmick requires alot of precision and patience, but the audience reactions you would get is totally worth it.
