To any members of the Magic Castle

Hi!

I'm not a magician. I'm just a guy who coordinates a group for volunteering (community service & helping others).

This past Christmas, I attended an event in Hollywood hosted by the United Methodist Church & Temple Israel of Hollywood, and parking for volunteers was available at the Magic Castle.

I read that guests have to know a member; but unfortunately I don't know any magicians.

All of you probably get asked often by family, friends, and strangers, so my apologies if you encounter a lot of free-loading leeches.

In my volunteer group, there are some really nice people who volunteer throughout the year, and I thought maybe it'd be neat to do something fun.

Most volunteers in my group are in Orange County (you all know about LA traffic), so I know beggars shouldn't be choosers; but if any magician ever performs on a weekend evening and has an extra guest pass available, we'd love to attend and watch your show.

Regardless, thanks for reading and please keep up the great work. You all are awesome for entertaining people and so talented in your captivating & mesmerizing illusions and routines.

Oh, and in our group, we sometimes volunteer at children-related events, so if anyone ever wants to entertain some kids, join us any time!

You would get better results if you just went straight to the Magic Castle.

There is a person at the Castle who does bookings for group events, and I'm sure you'd qualify for that. I don't know if they assign you a member to get in through, or if they just wave you in. I don't know how that works but I'd call the Castle and start there. Members do have guest lists but our guest lists are only 8 or 9 deep, so if you have a large group that makes it a challenge to get everyone in. If that doesn't work then by all means try posting on here, Ellusionist, and the Magic Cafe. There are lots of members floating around these sites and if the Castle itself won't put you through, I'm sure you'll find someone here who can help.

Sorry for any confusion about the group reference. My intention was to do something fun with a few volunteer friends, since I read elsewhere that guest passes are limited to 8 people. If nobody can help us get on a guest list, then that's okay, totally understandable that magicians/members get bombarded with requests all the time. I wanted to at least take a chance and ask around.
