School starts Aug 23 for my school and the talent show is in September which isn't much time to prepare. I have my act already prepared but the problem is, we have try outs obviously. I don't want to show my effect for try outs because I don't want the judges to see it before the actual show. My friend did a different try out than his actual act so I want to do that. Now the thing is, I need a mentalism effect fit for the stage for my tryout. I've never done stage mentalism except for the act I have right now prepared for September. So I'm kinda lost.

Shoot me a PM with what your were planning on performing and I will give you something similar to perform for the try outs.
I would be careful with how that is all handled because a lot of times judges who put you through to the next round or pass you to the real deal want the same act. Others are ok with you bringing something new that night.

I'd suggest a simple prediction with a swami gimmick... Although that isn't really for stage... It's really all I know in mentalism...
What I happened to do for our talent show auditions was just converse with the judges. Our auditions happened to be very laid back and I was really good friends with the people running it. They were already aware of my talent and all I did was do a few closeup tricks to the group and I promised them a great stage show. Turned out very successful.
