Hey guys, so I've been wondering this for the past few days or so: What condition of deck do you use when you go out and perform? I know using a fairly newer deck is ideal, but they tend to slide around a lot if not broken in a bit. Also, let's say you are going to perform an effect that bends/tears/burns/otherwise ruins a card. Do you use the deck already short of a few cards, or break out a new one, just to lose a few cards again, leaving you with several short card decks?
I tend to stick with the same deck I used already for carbon paper (my real only trick that "ruins" a card) so I'm walking around with a deck with 30 odd cards, and another full one for other effects that might need a full deck or more cards.
Another question, do you always use a newer or less broken in deck? What do you do with the decks that become very broken in yet a bit old (browner on the sides) and/or clumping a bit? Do you just practice, or perform with them as well? I'm still in high school, which isn't the cleanest place, so I tend to use a bit more of my worn out decks so they can shuffle and bend the cards without me worrying about them too much.
What are your guys' thoughts on this? I'd love to hear them.
Jacob
