Customarily, it is polite to also give what you ask for. Else you may seem to be only wanting other peoples' wisdom, rather than offering some of your own. Perhaps if we could hear a little bit about what you perform for people.

I like to perform things that are intimate in feel. I performed earlier today a trick in which the spectator demonstrates the ability to instantly memorise a shuffled deck, twice (i.e. a spectator demonstration of photographic memory). She gave me a hug afterwards, saying, "Thank you for making me feel talented". It was nice :)

That is awesome man. Some of my favorites would be Biddle Trick, 4-for-4 switch, anything with loops, Paperclipped, Back In Time, Spongeballs, Bill switch (HUNDREDS of effects to do with that! I don't do much coin stuff. I love Stairway, and Fresh Scent along with Raw Linkage. I am learning rope magic and here pretty soon I will be getting smoke. I have this weird thing that happens where when I'm put on the spot, I can't think of all the effects I can do.

There have literally been times where I do one card trick, and they want to see more, but I can't think of ANYTHING else that I know how to do.

I'd say that's a pretty clear-cut indication that you've overloaded yourself with material.

Perhaps you should pick your top ten favorite card effects and just stick to those a while. Run through all ten once a day until you have them memorized. Then force yourself to stick with them for a while before you add something old you used to do--or something new--back in.

This happened a lot before I quit for a while. I just got back into magic a few months ago (I had sold EVERYTHING I had). But now, it isn't that bad, because I don't buy magic that often, and I don't just throw anything and everything into my arsenal. What I listed, is pretty much what I have been performing since I got back into magic, and I haven't had to much trouble recently

I usually have 6 - 9 effects in constant rotation when I am doing close up and then I have three standard stage shows.

The effects that will never leave are some form of Q&A and psychometry also hypnosis and metal bending if the mood strikes.

PK Touches gets a lot of play in impromptu situations aswell.

Most often color changes and ACR, stuff like that. But reacently I've been performing "Wow by masuda" alot as well as "Portal" with smoke, and when I'm not in school I'll use smoke along with Wow.
