hum...you could try to watch proffessionals performing these effects to see how hey perform them. bill malone, tommy wonder, fred kaps....

People like visual and fast magic. If you over do the patter then it gets annoying. But if you have the right patter like Lee Asher's patter for witness then it ends up good. I never liked using tricks like reset since there tricks that only entertain the spectator. Some sleights are useless. There are many tricks that are easier and get better reactions then complicated tricks.
