Celebrity Match

Spidey

Digital Instruction $9.95
Special Thanks: Thanks to Wayne and Fran Houchin for Filming and Editing... and being awesome!

In 2010, the legendary Wayne Houchin hand selected 7 effects created by Bedros Akkelian ("Spidey") for a one of a kind project. These effects were filmed, edited and ready to go. In 2011, theory11 announced the launch of the WIRE, the perfect outlet for these effects... this is the first one!

The performer places a prediction on the table, he then displays 6 cards with the names of 6 celebrities printed on them. The spectator picks one, and the prediction matches! THAT IS IT!

No switches, no double envelopes, no swamis, no sleight of hand, no spelling numbers. ONE PREDICTION. 100% accurate. No suggestion or subtleties. The spectator can take out the prediction, and you are ALWAYS correct.

"Spidey's Celebrity Match is a deviously clever concept. His magic is engaging, very well thought out and extremely commercial." - Richard Sanders

This is such a devious effect. The method is very deceptive. And in terms of mentalism effects it really touches on all bases. You don't have to worry about missing the prediction. It will work every time!

For a Wire download, this is a brilliant piece of mentalism (but what's to be expected from Spidey?). This effect is strong, easy to learn and remember, and easy to have on you at all times. The effect can be used in many ways, with a lot of outs given what the spectator says. In the end you are always going to be right and you can also hand out a business card in the process for anyone out there looking for a trick to give them that excuse. Strong mentalism, good for workers, easy to learn.

Amazing trick, looks awesome! Great job Spidey!

Canada • Jul 5th, 2013

Amazing effect, easy, unbelievable, and reaction is spectacular.

Montréal • Apr 22nd, 2013

Awesome trick. It's simple and powerful - good job!

Peru • Mar 7th, 2013

Very simple, doesn't work like you think it does (I wish I could explain that without revealing the trick). Overall great trick. But if you are an intermediate magician, I recommend Physco by Spidey.

'Spidey' has never stopped amazing me and this effect just blows me away! It is so easy to perform and I just love it! GET IT!

Austrlia • Mar 5th, 2013

The idea is clever and simple, which gives you flexibility in your performance in terms of dramatic interpretation and artistry. This is what I call a really solid foundation and clever routine. Nice job Spidey : )

This is my new favourite effect! It's brilliant in every way, no gimmicks, no sleights, no nothing. It does cost a little too much maybe but it will always get great reactions!

England • Nov 21st, 2011

This is awesome. Even though I'm not a mentalist, this is still going into my repertoire. Its very easy to do and no special gimmicks are required. Great work!

This is a very good mentalism effect. I'd recommend it any day of the week. Spidey is a really cool guy and this effect can really blow people away. It's very simple, which allows you to concentrate on presentation. Many people say you can learn and perform in the same day. You can, but why would you? Just because it's easy doesn't mean it doesn't deserve practice to make it be the best that it can be.

Texas • Sep 29th, 2011

One of the best mentalism tricks I have seen. Congratulations!

Florianópolis Brazil • Sep 27th, 2011

While based on an old principle, this is a great routine to carry on you or put in your walk-around set. Nice presentation and great thinking by Spidey.

West VIrginia • Sep 26th, 2011

This is a clever method no doubt and it is well taught, but you can't perform it more than once, as needed in a walkaround/close up setting! Overall he gave it a lot of thought and has some good ideas and improvements to an old method.

This effect kills. Great Job Spidey. I cannot wait for more to come from you.

California • Sep 21st, 2011

Wow Spidey you completely blew this girl's mind with this trick! I love it! Keep up your good work.

Montreal • Sep 21st, 2011

Amazing effect! I got this effect this morning, mastered it in one hour and performed it for a crowd the same night - I got some insane reactions! The Method is so clever and is a complete fooler. Great job Spidey on this one. I will be looking your stuff up!

Toronto • Sep 20th, 2011

Excellent! Wonderfully simple method, which allows you to concentrate on your presentation. You should be able to grasp the basic concept within minutes of viewing. Please give this the practice it deserves and you should have a real worker on your hands.

Superb trick.

Pakistan • Sep 19th, 2011

Absolutely ingenious. Not only have I found a permanent spot for this in my act, I literally never leave home without it. And that's the beauty, you can carry these cards where ever you go and you're always ready for a miracle. This is a must buy for any magician wanting an effect where they'll always be ready to amaze.

Mid-West • Sep 19th, 2011

Don't buy it! So that I can keep this for myself. Celebrity Match is an EXTREMELY clever concept. It's a great mentalism effect because it is EASY to do, CLEAN and it fools both magicians and laypeople. This effect will get you great reactions every time you perform it.

Montreal • Sep 19th, 2011

If you're looking for an effect that's not only original but also blows your audience's mind out of this world, this is for you, from one of Montreal's best magicians/mentalists. This is Spidey at his best.

Montreal • Sep 19th, 2011

Absolutely brilliant. So powerful and direct.

Laval • Sep 18th, 2011

I've seen him lecture this one, and it's a complete fooler! Totally clean too.

Montreal • Sep 18th, 2011

Absolutely love this effect, and I perform it every time with great reactions. Thanks Spidey!
