Dominik Kirsten
Dohna, DeHey there. My name is Dominik and I'm a beginner cardist who is willing to learn new moves so I can either put them together in a YouTube Video or just come up with something original, that might be published here one day. If you want to see my work on YouTube just check the link below. Thanks and peace out everyone=) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcZGU8sEhH58oNqI9LzbGFA
How did you first get started in cardistry?
At the beginning I was only doing magic and thought cardistry is awkward and I didn't really like it. Over the time I saw a few really good moves and videos on YouTube which got me into cardistry aswell. Zach Mueller is probably my inspiration for starting YouTube and I think he is the reason I'm on T11 aswell.
Which artists have inspired you the most in your work thus far?
As mentioned earlier, Zach Mueller is a big inspiration for me and I'd love to hang out with him. But also well known people like Daniel Madison really inspired me to learn new moves and create my own flourishes.
What advice would you give to new performers just starting today?
Since I'm not in for really long the best thing to say is: Practise, practise, practise and practise. I practise 1-2 hours each day and I still have to learn a lot. You can grab a deck of cards while watching TV aswell and learn some moves. Hard work never stays unseen but if you don't work for your goals, you won't reach anything. So, practise a lot!
What is your creative process - how do you come up with new effects and ideas?
The most flourishes that I created were done by accident. I don't sit down saying "now I create something", it just happens.
