After performing Ring Thing or any other type of ring magic, the magician takes the borrowed ring and places it onto a stretched rubber band. With just a short tug, the spectator cannot believe it, as they see their ring visibly penetrate / melt through the strands of rubber band. This is Lift Off.

In Twistration, the ring is trapped onto the rubber band by being twisted multiple times to prevent escape, however, once again the ring penetrates the band. This is a killer effect that just fries layman because it is their ring and you can give them the rubber band to keep!
