Materialize
Ed Ellis
Special Thanks: Roy Walton's 1975 'Paint Brush' Color Change influenced my circular color change which is now 'Materialize'.In 2007 I released this color change, "Materialize" into the magic community on my Volume 1 "Materialize" DVD. This routine has been a staple in my routine for the past 20 years and is my most requested piece when at conventions.
The spectator sees the magician ribbon spread the deck freely. He then cuts the deck and makes one ace magically appear by lightly rubbing the deck in a circular motion. This ace then materializes into the second ace while the first one has disappeared. This ace then changes into the third ace and finally the last ace. As a finale one ace is shown separate from the deck and it morphs into all 4 aces.
Throughout the entire routine there are subtleties that prove that only one ace has "materialized" while the others have vanished. It is VERY convincing.
Keep in mind that this can also be done with multiple spectator selections as a variation.

This is not a unique change, but the instruction for it is well done. One of the easier moves to practice. Great price.

Australia • Mar 2nd, 2013Great color change that with a little practice it looks like a camera trick. I've watched Ed perform this over 50 times live and people LOVE this. Watch yourself do it in front of a mirror until you have it down smoothly.
Louisville, Ohio • Nov 13th, 2011I bought this yesterday and I have to say it is one of my favorite reveals I've seen. Its very fluid, simple and has a great wow factor. I would recommend this to anyone looking to enhance their routine with a little extra bang!
