I first got into magic when I got a magic set (as a lot of kids do) for Christmas, and then I started fiddling round with the props and gimmicks. Then I did a few of the tricks on my parents and they were amazed, so I got more and more interested in the art and started performing to my friends, and eventually came second in the year 5 talent show. It was then that I stopped for a reason I can't remember. But two years later when I went into secondary school, I saw another kid doing magic. So I decided to start again and I bought a deck of cards and started learning sleights and routines. I then discovered Penguin and Theory11 and Ellusionist and that's when I learnt how to perform properly. I feel like I have learnt a lot more in these last few years thanks to the wonderful internet and the YMC. And here I am today, performing regularly at school and hopefully on the path to becoming a true magician.

My favourite magicians are Gregory Wilson, Oz Pearlman and Cameron Francis as I love their personalities and charisma. I am also inspired by the immensive creative talent of Adam Wilber and Jay Sankey. I one day hope to be a prolific magic performer and creator like them and teach the new generation of magicians just like they taught me.

First off, I want to say that I am still an aspiring magic creator, and in no way a professional. But if you ask anywhere they will tell you to just learn as much magic as possible, that way you will get inspired, learn more about how creators think and in turn, you will begin to think like them. And not just magic, you can be inspired by anything and everything, so open yourself to new experiences, learn things you didn't even think about learning, and eventually you will get that creative spark.

Go for it. No matter what difficulties you may encounter, just keep trying and you will do it. So go forth and be amazing!
