How did you first get started in magic?
I used to watch shows like Ripley's believe it or not and Guinness world records, enchanted by people of extraordinary talents. One day, I realized that a deception I discovered could allow me to replicate a feat I saw on the television. Since then, coming up with ways to bring superhuman myths to life has become an obsession.
Which artists have inspired you the most in your work thus far?
Artists who inspire me are the ones who convince me of their superhuman talents. Most are found in myths, legends and tales. Out of the few real people, Jamid D. Grant of the Impossible Bottle fame is by far the most inspiring artist alive.
What is your creative process - how do you come up with new effects and ideas?
When I modify an effect (and I almost always modify an effect before I perform), I think "how can I spin this principle in such a way that if it's inventor were to see it, even he would not recognize it". This is important because it helps me translate some part of me in something I would perform for my audience. I do not advocate performing illusions as they are.
As for coming up with original effects, I include the journey behind each of my effects in their releases.
